U.K.’s ‘Motoring at the Manor’ Summer Event Debuts June 16
Inaugural auto show at Celtic Manor in South Wales will feature a world-class Concours d’Elégance, plus races, concerts, and demo drives.
What better way to spend Father’s Day than at the inaugural debut of Motoring at the Manor? The car show promises a grand celebration of speed and style and is set to take place June 16 at the Celtic Manor Resort near Newport, South Wales in the U.K.
A jaw-dropping array of supercars, classic cars, competition cars, and rallying machines will be on display. Plus, attendees will be able to witness a series of competition road and rally cars tackling Celtic Manor’s twisting and challenging internal road network.
Supercars on display will include Pagani, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, and Porsche. Classic cars include Aston Martins, MGs, Fords, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, Bentley, Lotus, and Triumph.
Competition cars featured at the event include single-seater racers, plus Formula 1, Touring Cars, Can Am, historic competition cars, and Group C endurance racers including Le Mans legends. (The finale of the Le Mans race will be screened live at Celtic Manor during the auto show.)
A comprehensive range of rally cars on display will include early-era classics such as Mini Coopers, Ford Escorts, and Saab 96s; through to a 1970’s Lancia Stratos, Datsun 240Z, Alpine A110 Berlinette, and Ford Escort RS1800s; via fearsome 1980s Group B Audi Quattro, Mazda RX-7 and MG Metro 6R4s, and on to modern rally machines, including Subaru Imprezas, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X, and Ford Fiestas.
Another highlight of Motoring at the Manor is a world-class Concours d’Elégance. Classes of vehicles displayed include Welsh-built wheels, Le Mans racers, avant garde autos, and vintage vehicles.
“We are very excited to be bringing some breathtaking vehicles to Wales and putting on an event that has something for everyone,” says Tim Nash, CEO of Classic & Competition Car Events Ltd which is staging the MATM event in partnership with Celtic Manor. “It will be a superb day out whether you are a serious [car lover] or a family looking for a great day out for Father’s Day.”
