The Never-Ending Speculated Lamborghini SUV to possibly be called “MLC”

Few new cars have been the subject of such abundant rumours as the forthcoming Lamborghini SUV, but sources inside Audi have all but confirmed the speculation that it will be revealed at the Beijing Motor Show in a few months’ time.

Rumour has it that the new SUV will be called the Lamborghini MLC, though confirmation is still not official – Lamborghini spokespersons are staying very quiet for the time being.

It pipped the Estoque for coming into production first due to convenience. The underpinnings will be shared with the forthcoming Bentley SUV, though Lamborghini is at pains to reduce the weight of the MLC to under 2000kg.

Powering the MLC will be the V10 from the Gallardo, though in a different state of tune. Sources have suggested that it will be mounted to an eight-speed automatic, which would make sense given the all-wheel-drive system is already able to be adapted to the ZF auto in the VW Touareg.

All will be revealed by April so stay tuned.
