10 Ways You Can Be a Better Driver

Better Driver

Everyone likes to believe they are an above-average driver, with talent to spare. Some of us possibly are, but by the law of averages, statistically, about half of us will be below-average drivers. Here are a few tips from Car Throttle to help you improve your driving on the street, and possibly help you prevent an accident — or at the very least save you a few dollars at the pump.

Does every driver need to know how to heel-toe? I can’t do it, so I would say no. However, when you’re in the car, keeping a cool head and exercising some patience can help improve your driving experience, and the experience of those in cars around you. In addition to patience, spacial awareness, looking forward, and generally being more level headed can improve every aspect of your drive. As for additional safety skills, CT advocates learning how to manage oversteer, learning how to properly reverse, and spending some time working on your parking abilities.

Sure, most of this stuff won’t help reduce your lap times, but it might get you to work with a little less stress, less danger, and a whole lot less wear on your car’s systems. Give them a try!
