Supercharged Lamborghini Huracan and BMW E92 M3 Make Donuts

Stunt driver husband and wife team thrash around at Hoonigan’s Burn Yard.

Samuel Hubinette is a two-time Formula Drift champion, winning the inaugural 2004 and the 2006 championships. But when he hung up his FD shoes, he did not stop drifting. After his stint at pro-drifting, Hubinette transitioned into the world of stunt driving. You probably have seen him as a stunt double for many car movies you know and love including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, and Need for Speed. He even started his own company, Hubinette Stunts.

Hubinette recently brought his 835 horsepower VF supercharged rear-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracan to Hoonigan’s Burn Yard for a recent episode of their Daily Transmission series. He previously brought the Huracan by Hoonigan’s Donut Garage to do some donuts, but there was not much room at the Hoonigan HQ. Hoonigan’s new and improved Burn Yard has plenty of room to let the Swede play around and this time he brought back-up.

Hubinette’s wife, Stina, is also a stunt driver. In fact, Samuel says the whole idea to have a drift Lamborghini with a hydraulic handbrake was to use it as a marketing tool to generate stunt work for Stina.

In the video, first Samuel takes the Hoonigans through his Huracan, which has changed since last they saw it. He describes the pain points of attempting to drift a dual clutch transmission equipped car.

“You’re in second gear, you pull the handbrake, it kicks you in first gear automatically. So suddenly you have deceleration happening without warning,” Hubinette says. Though a pain point he does not let that stop him and he lays down some sick drifts through the Hoonigan course with no regard that his vehicle is worth a few hundred grand.

After some solo play, Stina comes out to play in a BMW E92 M3. The husband and wife do some tandem donuts. Hoonigan’s Shop Forman Dan Sommer exclaimed that their donuts was the most romantic thing he thinks he had ever seen.
