Stolen Classic Morris Minor Leads Police on Crazy Chase! (Video)

51-year old Morris Minor shows it is still a spry ride on wild joyride in England. 

Police in West Yorkshire, England recently captured a rather unusual car chase. The car that gave chase was a classic 1967 Morris Minor. Not exactly what comes to mind when we think of a getaway mobile.

According to BBC News the red Morris Minor had been stolen by thieves. As the police took off after the classic ride, their dash camera caught the surprisingly nail-biting action.

The Daily Mail published the unconventional chase footage after the West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted the video, saying, “It’s not every day you have a pursuit with a 51-year-old stolen Morris Minor. Fagley area of Bradford. Can anybody explain how it didn’t crash at this junction?”

Honestly, this car handles like a champ in the pursuit! The Morris Minor weaves adeptly in and out of traffic, narrowly avoiding getting hit at least twice. Even more surprising was that the car thieves avoided capture. They lost the police and raced off in the vintage British compact. Law enforcement later found the car abandoned and unharmed. And the thieves? They got away.

Say what you will, but this old dog certainly can run with the younger pups any day!
