Gorgeous 1989 Ferrari sells for $90,000 and leads Carlisle Auctions to $5.7 million in total sales, an all-time best for the brand.

Over 500 rare and unique vehicles and other consignments crossed the block in central Pennsylvania at last week’s Spring Carlisle auction, and between the first slamming of the gavel on April 19 to the final hammer to fall on April 21, Carlisle Auctions tallied $5.7 million in total sales, an all-time best for the brand.

Equally impressive is the fact that it was one of our favorite cars, a 1989 Ferrari Testarossa, that was among the top five vehicles that stole the show, selling for $90,000 and adding to collective top-five tally of $435,000. The Testarossa was the second highest-selling vehicle, falling just behind a 1969 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible that auctioned for $103,000.

In third place was a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette that went for $85,000, followed by a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for $82,500, and rounding out the five hottest sellers was a 1966 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350, which netted $75,000.

Honorable mention to this list was a low-mileage, one-owner 1972 Chrysler Town & Country wagon that went for $55,000 and is believed to be world-record price for such a vehicle.

Next up for the famous auction and events company is the Carlisle Events Summer Sale, a brand-new, stand-alone auction that runs June 16 at Pennsylvania’s Carlisle Expo Center and spotlights over 200 consignments. Get full details here.
