Spied: New Porsche 911 GT2

By -

A harder-core 911 Turbo will rise again in form of the GT2, which is set to appear at next year’s Geneva motor show. Seen here for the first time in exclusive spy-images, the new GT2 borrows the mechanical package of the new Turbo S, including its 560-hp twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six engine and dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

A top speed of more than 320 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of close to 3.0 seconds is expected. In keeping with its motorsport brief, the new Porsche 911 GT2 will ditch the 911 Turbo S’s four-wheel drive system in favour of rear-wheel drive. Other features include the new four-wheel steer system.

An RS version is expected to develop upwards of 620 hp when it is revealed during 2015.
