‘Showa’ RWB Porsche 911 Glitters in Project Gold
Golden 911 owned by Christian Coujin is his eighth RWB creation and packs twin turbos, wears ultra-rare gold paint.
You never know what SEMA will bring to the dazzling lights and desert sands of Las Vegas on a given year. An unmodded Ford GT MkII can draw all of the eyes without doing a single thing. A slammed BMW M550i in matte metallic red can glitter in the desert sun. Even a tuner known for building Pikes Peak conquerors can turn-out a Porsche meant to conquer a different kingdom of speed.
And speaking of Porsche, we happened upon a special 911 at the Adam’s Polishes booth on the grounds of the Las Vegas Convention Center, one built by none other than Rauh-Welt Begriff.
Built in part to showcase both Adam’s Polishes’ line of detailing products, and Rotiform’s own wheel catalog, this RWB 911 was built for Christian Coujin. The car happens to be Coujin’s eighth RWB Porsche to date, and is based upon a 1997 993-era twin-turbo model.
Named ‘Showa’ by its creator, RWB founder Akira Nakai, the 911 wears an ultra-rare paint color from Porsche’s palette: Project Gold. According to Coujin on his Instagram, the color was only applied one time before: upon the body of the last 993-era 911 Turbo to leave the production line from Stuttgart.
A magnificent specimen of RWB’s finest needs the right set of wheels to complete the look. Thus, Rotiform bestowed a special set of its RW8 three-pieced forged units upon the corners of Coujin’s 911. Aside from the eye-catching gold-and-chrome combination, the center section is engraved with Nakai’s slogan for RWB, “What the world needs is rough.”
Meanwhile, the RWB connection runs deep beyond the golden 911, as Adam’s collaborated with Nakai on a limited-edition detail spray, itself a sunny golden yellow liquid scented with the essence of summer squash. Only 888 bottles were ever made, and only four of those were signed by the Porsche modding legend. We like to think some of that magic was used to make Coujin’s 911 glitter in the Vegas sun.
Coujin has one special ride with this RWB 911. We can’t wait to see more like it soon enough.
