No “Ring Of Fire” This Time for The NSX
If you remember the last time our Teamspeed spies spotted the upcoming NSX testing at the famed Nürburgring, the prototype caught fire and burned to a crisp. But this time the Honda engineers picked a colder and partially wet week to perform testing which has “possibly”, according to some nay-sayers, saved the car from catching fire again.
The Honda/Acura NSX was revealed as a concept in Frankfurt 2013 and with the public debut planned for mid 2015 they have surely taken some time to get it ready.
Power is expected to come from a mid-mounted V6 delivering some 400 horsepower with some hybrid electric motors. The engine, together with the mail electric motor will drive the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. At the same time a couple of supplementary motors will power the front axle, a system Honda calls SH-AWD, Super Handling All Wheel Drive.
