2012 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance

The 2012 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance is officially in the books and Teamspeed’s very own Peter Tromboni was on location at the beautiful Amelia Island Ritz-Carlton Golf Course this past Sunday to cover the spectacular event in a Teamspeed exclusive.
With approximately 300 cars in attendance, the Amelia Concours judges had their work cut out for them picking class and best of show winners. The coveted Best of Show is split into two designations, Concours d’Elegance and Concours de Sport.
Best of Show Concours d’Elegance went to the 1938 Bugatti Type 57C from the Off Brothers Collection of Richland, Michigan. This magnificent Bugatti Type 57 arrived in the United States in 1961 and was fully restored in 2009.
Best of Show Concours de Sport was awarded to the coveted 1962 Ferrari 330 LM / GTO owned by Jim Jaeger, one of the first two four-liter GTOs built by the Ferrari factory.
“Both winners are perfect examples of style and sport and are very deserving of their awards. I congratulate the judges on their stunning choices.” said Dick Messer, former Director of The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.
