Porsche Design Launches Custom-built Timepiece Collection
Porsche Design now allows customers to personalize a timepiece much the same way they can customize their Porsche 911.
Following a successful launch in Germany this July, Porsche Design is rolling out its custom-built timepiece collection in the United States. The innovative program allows Porsche enthusiasts the ability to design their own custom chronograph to their own liking, or even match it to their personalized 911. The special timepieces offer an unprecedented degree of customization, and draw upon Porsche’s automotive production expertise to do so.
Porsche Design tapped the automaker’s experience in this field to make its customization program come to life. It’s modeled after the Porsche 911 configuration process, in fact, and the configurator looks and works essentially the same. Like the automaker’s famous model, the watch can be digitally visualized down to the tiniest details, and custom changes are shown in real time.
In total, there are over 1.5 million different design options, presenting a nearly unlimited number of possibilities. This also makes it highly unlikely that two timepieces will ever be the same, making each one a tailor-made masterpiece.
In addition, over 300 watch band configurations are available as well, and are able to be changed without using any tools. And if that isn’t enough personalization, customers can also customize the dial, bezel, and even add engraving to the back of the case and the timepiece’s box.

The progressive and forward thinking vision that made the complex concept a reality is characteristic of both Porsche Design and Porsche, and has allowed the brands to set new standards in premium sports car and timepiece customization.”
When customers head online to design their timepiece, they’ll enjoy renderings based on CAD data from Porsche designers and engineers. Once a custom watch is configured, the customer receives an individualized configuration code that can be sent to any Porsche dealer, where delivery will take place in 8-12 weeks.
Porsche plans on adding other models to the custom timepiece program at some point in the future. For now, these 911-inspired pieces are available at prices ranging from around $6,000 to $12,000, and can be customized by heading over here.
