Porsche 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series is a Limited-Production Model and Pumped Up with Power

Porsche will only make 500 of the special 911s and tune them to produce 607 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.

Not all Porsche 911 Turbo Ss are created equal. The new 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series is proof of that.

It’s a rolling showcase of what the new Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur (the artists formerly known as Porsche Exclusive) can do. In this case, it will only do it 500 times. The home of Porsche customization and limited-edition models starts by taking a 911 Turbo S and fitting it with the Turbo Aerokit’s rear wing, a new lower rear valance, a carbon fiber ram-air scoop, and black stainless steel exhaust pipes. Then Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur covers it all with Golden Yellow Metallic (other colors are also available) and a pair of carbon weave stripes. It uses more special paint to accent the black 20-inch center-lock wheels and finishes everything off with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur badges on the front fenders.

Mechanically, the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series comes with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the Sport Chrono package, rear-axle steering, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC). Unlike other Turbo Ss, the Exclusive Series uses a twin-turbo 3.8-liter F6 tuned to produce 607 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque – increases of 27 horsepower and 37 lb-ft relative to the normal Turbo S power plant. Porsche says the Exclusive Series can hit 62 mph in 2.9 seconds (the regular Turbo S with the Sport Chrono package can hit 60 mph in 2.8 seconds) and 124 mph in 9.6. Top speed is 205 mph, the same as the standard Turbo S.

The interior of the Exclusive Series is a mix of perforated leather, Golden Yellow stripes and stitching, and carbon fiber trim accented with threads of copper. A plate on the passenger side states each Exclusive Series’ position in the production run of 500. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur fills the luggage area with a “leather Exclusive Series luggage set that has been developed especially for customers who buy a vehicle from the limited production run. The visual details on the luggage set as well as the dimensions of the two hold-alls, the day bag and the suit bag are the perfectly fit for the luggage space available in the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series.”

To make the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series even more special, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur throws in a titanium Porsche Design Chronograph – 1 of only 500 – that features design cues from the car, such as its paint color and a carbon dial.

Derek Shiekhi's father raised him on cars. As a boy, Derek accompanied his dad as he bought classics such as post-WWII GM trucks and early Ford Mustang convertibles.

After loving cars for years and getting a bachelor's degree in Business Management, Derek decided to get an associate degree in journalism. His networking put him in contact with the editor of the Austin-American Statesman newspaper, who hired him to write freelance about automotive culture and events in Austin, Texas in 2013. One particular story led to him getting a certificate for learning the foundations of road racing.

While watching TV with his parents one fateful evening, he saw a commercial that changed his life. In it, Jeep touted the Wrangler as the Texas Auto Writers Association's "SUV of Texas." Derek knew he had to join the organization if he was going to advance as an automotive writer. He joined the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) in 2014 and was fortunate to meet several nice people who connected him to the representatives of several automakers and the people who could give him access to press vehicles (the first one he ever got the keys to was a Lexus LX 570). He's now a regular at TAWA's two main events: the Texas Auto Roundup in the spring and the Texas Truck Rodeo in the fall.

Over the past several years, Derek has learned how to drive off-road in various four-wheel-drive SUVs (he even camped out for two nights in a Land Rover), and driven around various tracks in hot hatches, muscle cars, and exotics. Several of his pieces, including his article about the 2015 Ford F-150 being crowned TAWA's 2014 "Truck of Texas" and his review of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, have won awards in TAWA's annual Excellence in Craft Competition. Last year, his JK Forum profile of Wagonmaster, a business that restores Jeep Wagoneers, won prizes in TAWA’s signature writing contest and its pickup- and SUV-focused Texas Truck Invitational.

In addition to writing for a variety of Internet Brands sites, including JK Forum and Ford Truck Enthusiasts, Derek also contributes to other outlets. He started There Will Be Cars on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to get even more automotive content out to fellow enthusiasts.
