New Muse Music Video Features Metallic Lamborghini Countach

By -

Video amplifies a futuristic and avant-garde concept with a Lamborghini that wholly embodies the style.

British band Muse recently released the video “Something Human,” the first single from their upcoming album Simulation Theory, and it is a feast not just for the ears, but for the eyes as well. In large part this is due to the stunning Lamborghini Countach that is featured prominently throughout the video. The music is great, and the Countach is rockin’.

It’s hardly surprising that the band would use a Lamborghini. Lead singer Matt Bellamy is a huge automobile enthusiast and car collector. The “Uprising” singer has an ever-evolving car collection that includes a Lamborghini Avendador, a Lotus, a 1966 Ford Mustang, and a Tesla. But when the record company is picking up the tab, the sky is the limit, so why not go for the best?

In the video, Bellamy is driving a deep red metallic Countach through a futuristic, dystopian desert. The video doesn’t really have a plot, per se, but the visuals are stunning and work nicely with the song, and with the car. After a car chase involving his band mates and what we think is a missile launcher, Bellamy enters another realm, one heavily inspired by the movie Tron. It’s all good, though, as the color and lines of the car truly get to shine here.

Bellamy ends up back in the desert at a Blockbuster, oops, we mean “Retrograde Video” store. We hope he was kind, and remembered to rewind. There’s also a werewolf, a Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure time-traveling phone booth, a rip in the space-time continuum, and lots of very cool Countach action.

So the video is more symbolic in its storytelling, and that is fine with us. It’s very on brand for Muse, a band deeply rooted in progressive rock, space rock, and theatrical concepts. We especially appreciate the amount of screen time that this breathtaking Countach gets.

Muse’s album Simulation Theory goes on sale in November 2018. To see behind-the-scenes footage from the video shoot, check out this video.
