Liquid Death: Acid Green 918 Spyder Up For Sale

881 horsepower. All-wheel drive. A 4.6 liter, naturally aspirated V8 motor, helped along by a hybrid system. And a top speed of 210 miles per hour. The Porsche 918 Spyder is a car of improbable numbers and figures. It’s also one of the most beautiful cars on the planet.
However, in the rarefied air of supercars and hypercars, the 918 breathes some of the rarest, having been sold out since December of last year. That makes second-hand 918s just as elusive and expensive as a brand new car would have cost. However, it seems when the right set of options are ticked, that original price is flung out the door, even for the now used car.
In the world, only two 918 Spyders were ever spec’d out with the ridiculous Acid Green paint. Of those two, only one resides in the U.S., and it just so happens that this car also has the much sought after Weissach Package. It also just so happens to be up for sale currently, through the duPont Registry. Although the asking price is a bit steeper than we remember the original car costing.
For just $2.9 million dollars, this amazing piece of engineering and beauty could be yours. However, if you were one of those lucky few first adopters, that price could have been a quarter of what it is now. So get ready to break into a few piggy banks if you actually want one.
