Never before have folding seats garnered so much attention. With a few weeks to go before Land Rover officially unveils the new Discovery, it’s highlighting some of the new tech. One such feature is being dubbed “Intelligent Seat Fold.” It is an app that allows you to configure the folding second and third row seats from anywhere in the world, via your cell phone. Land Rover wanted to show off the tech in the most extreme way possible, so they sent Bear Grylls up in the sky.

Chances are, you probably won’t ever be using your phone during free-fall. But, thanks to the video below, at least you know that if you find yourself in such a situation, you can re-arrange the seating in your Discovery. Jumping out of an airplane with six members of the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team, Grylls utilizes the new app before opening his parachute. The industry-first app can raise or lower the seats, including the full-size third row, making room for seven total sky-diving passengers.

The new Discovery is set to debut September 28th, just before the Paris Motor Show. More information can be found at LandRoverUSA.
