Despite the weather, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO was a force to be reckoned with on the track.

Lamborghini racing claimed victory this weekend in the first round of the 2019 Italian GT Championship Sprint season at the ACI Vallelunga Circuit. Racers Vito Postiglione and Jeroen Mul were behind the wheel of the winning car, #63 Imperiale Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO.

After clinching the first place win in first race, they followed with second place in Race 2 to top the standings ahead of the next round at Imola Race Circuit in June.

Postiglione and Mul started Race 1 third on the grid. Postiglione took the lead on the third lap. The #63 Lamborghini Huracán was largely untouchable after Mul took over from Postiglione. The 28-year-old Dutch driver extended the lead at the front and headed Riccardo Agostini’s Mercedes by 17s at the finish.

Mul started the wet second race alongside Agostini on the front row and held third place ahead of the driver change pit-stops. Postiglione then took over and put in a solid second stint of the race to finish a deserved runner-up to Agostini.
