IAA 2011: BMW Shows its 560hp M5

Frankfurt may be full of eco concepts and hybrids but it seems the Germans can’t quite kick the mega sedan habit. And they don’t come much more mega than the BMW M5.

It’s not got things its own way though, the recently revised and now twin-turbo Mercedes E63 AMG matching the new M stat-for-stat on the spec sheet. We look forward to that battle but in the meantime here are the numbers.

BMW has binned the last generation M5’s atmo V10 and replaced it with a twin turbo 4.4-litre V8. It comes with 560hp and a 0-60mph time of 4.4 seconds. Oh, and if you take the limiter off you’ll hit 190mph.
