London’s Jack Barclay Bentley dealership welcomed VIPs to see latest Grand Tourer for very first time.

The flagship Jack Barclay Bentley showroom, the world’s oldest and largest Bentley retailer, recently hosted the showroom debut of the new Bentley Continental GT Convertible.

The cutting-edge Continental GT Convertible is the latest and most technologically advanced vehicle in a lineage of luxurious Bentley models that stretches back to 1919. Steeped in history, it’s only fitting that the car should be displayed in a showroom first founded in its iconic Mayfair location back in 1953.

The all-new Bentley Continental GT Convertible is designed, engineered and handcrafted in Britain, representing all Bentley knows about creating the world’s most stylish and elegant Grand Tourers.

The elegant and sculptural exterior, with its Tornado lines achieved by an industry-first super-forming process, is complemented by a tailored convertible roof that can be deployed in just 19 seconds. Buyers have their choice of seven different roof colors, including for the first time an authentic tweed finish. Stowing the roof reveals a cabin showcasing Bentley’s unrivaled expertise in using natural materials. Each car includes the highest-quality leathers and 10 square meters of rare, sustainably-sourced wood.

Jack Barclay Bentley has a unique connection to the Bentley brand, with its namesake considered as one of the original “Bentley Boys.” In fact, Jack Barclay himself drove a Bentley 4.5-liter to victory in the 1929 Brooklands 500, setting an average speed of more than 107 miles per hour. The showroom retains many of its original features, including the iconic checkered floor, wood-paneling and art deco signage.

However, just like the new Continental GT Convertible is a very modern distillation of Bentley history, the Jack Barclay site has recently been subject to a multi-million-dollar renovation. It now features a stunning new central bar trimmed in fine Bentley leather, and a new commissioning suite for greater inspiration and privacy.

The H.R. Owen flagship dealership, Jack Barclay, has been operating in Mayfair since 1927 and although traditionally just a London-based business, the company now has locations in five counties in addition to their six London showrooms: Cheltenham (Gloucestershire), Pangbourne (Berkshire), Byfleet (Surrey), St. Albans (Hertfordshire) as well as Stockport (Greater Manchester).
