Super sports car maker Gumpert files for insolvency yet remains optimistic

Joining the ranks of many boutique automakers, supercar maker Gumpert has filed for a provisional insolvency, noting a lack of sales. The filing comes after the company’s planned China expansion fell through. Despite this the company’s court-appointed administrator is optimistic about a recovery. “The Apollo has gained an exclusive fan base throughout Germany and Europe. Now we have taken care of this customer base intensely. Production continues and we hope to sell the first vehicle within this week.” Roland Gumpert said in a recent statement.
