Bugatti Veyron Vitesse Races Koenigsegg Agera R!

Koenigsegg has claimed for years that its cars are the fastest in the world, but thanks to a lack of proper testing grounds, it has never been able to dethrone the mighty Bugatti Veyron in the top speed record books. To try and see if they could settle things, GTBoard grabbed a Veyron Vitesse and an Agera R and took them to the Automotive Testing Papenburg track to see which car was faster.

This isn’t a pure top speed run, as ATP’s track isn’t long enough, but with a straight that is 2.5 miles long, the cars can still get going pretty quickly. For this race, the two supercars come out of the corner banking right around 155 mph, and then they floor it. It takes about half of a second for the Agera R to start pulling away, and the Veyron never even has a hope of catching it. The Veyron hits a top speed of about 223 mph, but the Agera R managed to blitz that by a large margin, hitting a blistering 233 mph.

Oh, did I mention that the Koenigsegg pulled out of it and hit the brakes before the Veyron? That gap could have been even bigger. Bugatti may hold the official record, but it seems pretty obvious to me that the Koenigsegg Agera R could easily eclipse the top speed of the Veyron.
