Two-year grant will expand innovative arts training program in New York and provide hundreds of Brooklynites access to free art classes.

Genesis Motor America has long made automobiles that are works of art, and now the luxury brand is extending its reach even further into the creative space by announcing that it will award a grant in the amount of $100,000 to the Brooklyn-based organization ProjectArt. With the grant, Genesis continues its commitment to create new experiences for its owners. Through the creation of its own non-profit, Genesis Motor America Foundation, the organization has launched a series of education grants to support arts enrichment programs for high school and college students in the United States. An official check presentation to ProjectArt will take place June 14 at the historic New York Central Library. New York Undercover actor Malik Yoba, a Brooklyn native and memorable as “Yul Brenner” in the classic comedy Cool Runnings, will join Genesis in the celebration.

With the $100,000 grant, ProjectArt plans to expand its arts training program in the New York area, in partnership with local libraries and community artists. The two-year grant from the Genesis Motor America Foundation will also help the ProjectArt program provide hundreds of Brooklyn area students access to free art classes.

“Genesis is committed to inspiring ingenuity and creativity in children,” said Erwin Raphael, COO, Genesis Motor America. “Our mission is to support programs that immerse students in various artistic experiences and enhance personal development beyond the classroom. We believe if you educate a child, you will change their life. But, if you inspire a child, you will change the world.”
