Ferrari 599 Successor Spotted testing again

Our Teamspeed spies posted in Maranello have spotted the new Ferrari 599 successor out and about again this morning. The 599 replacement will be built on an all-new chassis and will borrow design elements from both the Ferrari FF and the California. It will receive modified bumpers and new headlamps, a modified bonnet, and a new exhaust system with tips that sit higher than on the current 599.

This new Ferrari GT will retain the front engine placement and use a version of the 6.3 liter V12, delivering more than 700 horsepower. This will make it more powerful then the Ferrari FF and the 599 GTO. It will even be more powerful then the mighty Lamborghini Aventador! Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a F1 style electronic differential.

The design will be an evolution of the current 599 with some design cues taken from both the 458 Italia and the FF. Due to use of more aluminum, this new Ferrari will be lighter than the current 599.

The new Ferrari GT is expected to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012 and will then go on sale in late 2012.
