Ferrari 212 Barchetta Drifts in the Hills of Italy

Ride along with our favorite petrolhead, Chris Harris, as he takes one of the prettiest Ferraris ever made, the 212 Export Barchetta by Touring, out for a spirited cruise in the hills of Italy.

Buying this car in the ’50s is the equivalent of purchasing a modern prototype racer in that it was absurdly expensive, but rightly so because you were buying a road-going race car. Typical owners of 212s would privately campaign their cars alongside professional racers in classic series like the Targa Florio and Mille Miglia.

The 2.5 liter, 160 horsepower V12 sounds amazing as Chris throws it around corners with his signature drift, making the tall front wheels wobble as they struggle for grip. It’s a handful, even at low speeds, but very rewarding for the driver that can shell out $5 – $7 million for this fully-documented original body and engine.
