Dealer Employee Crashes Customer’s Lambo on Test Drive

If you own a nice car, let alone a super car, this story is the stuff that nightmares are made of. The kind of story that keeps you up at night, and the kind of story that you truly hope never happens to you.

Leaving any car at a restaurant’s valet parking can be nerve racking; it’s almost expected for a valet guy to be a young, immature, and rather car-crazy young kid. So if anything were to happen to your ride, you almost have to blame yourself. In this case though, the wrecker was the one person that you typically trust to be responsible with your baby. But clearly, that didn’t happen. I’m looking at you Porsche/Audi mechanic from Quebec!

According to Jalopnik, a man’s modified Lamborghini Gallardo was driven irresponsibly and eventually smashed into a street light by the mechanic during a routine test drive. What the customer originally had performed in order for the mechanic to warrant a test drive during inclement weather is still unknown. And while the Gallardo is equipped with all-wheel drive, you’d think common sense would’ve prevailed.

Unfortunately, no video footage of the accident is available, but pictures tell a pretty clear story, and I bet it happened like this: employee goes for “test drive.” Employee gets excited. Employee drives faster than he should. Employee sees light turn red. Employee brakes. Employee brakes harder. Employee pulls a 180. Employee crashes into the street light. Employee kisses away job, girlfriend, and possibly financial stability.

If you don’t want to believe my version of the story, perhaps this witness statement will do a better job:

“I heard a loud car come in…and then a REALLY REALLY loud engine acceleration. (The guy definitely floored the car.) I looked out right away and as i looked i saw the lambo do a 180 and he did about 20 meters backwards, jumped the curb and stopped. (The back wheel that hit the curb was at 45 degree angle looked pretty bad.) Not sure he hit the post or not (they tend to fall easily). The post fell REALLY slowly right in the middle of the street. (Took maybe 3-4 seconds to fall.)”

The owner is a well-known forum member in the Canadian supercar community, so the story has spread like wild-fire and so have rumors that the dealership is trying to screw him over with the repair bills. Hopefully everyone will be held accountable and make it right for the poor Lambo owner!
