Chris Harris Drifts Daytona In The LaFerrari FXX K

This spectacular display of car control in an FXX K should move to the top of everyone’s watch list. 

It’s fair to say that Chris Harris is one of the most prolific automotive journalists on the face of the planet at the moment. He’s put more testing miles on hypercars than we’ve put on our own daily drivers in the last year or so. As the lead presenter of the rebooted BBC Top Gear franchise, he’s also proven he is quite good at what he does.

The very first episode of the Top Gear season earlier this year featured an exquisite review of the FXX K at Daytona, shot during the Ferrari festival held there back in January. It was one of the most beautifully crafted segments of Top Gear that we’ve seen in the series’ entire run. Magical stuff.

This particular video is not the same one as ran during that episode of Top Gear, but Chris and his video team shot this in addition to the TG piece. It comes across a little more slapdash in the editing and a bit less polished than the TV segment. However, it also represents a no-nonsense review of a 1,000-plus horsepower car that is 100 percent nonsense.

In this one, Chris uses a combination of in-car talking segments mixed with overlayed footage of his traditional slow-motion, high-angle smoky drift bits. If you have a spare seven minutes today (and let’s be honest, you do), you need to spend that time watching this review.
