1989 Lamborghini LM 002

Also known as the ‘Rambo Lambo,’ rare 1989 Lamborghini LM002 luxury truck is a gorgeous (but confusing) ride.

If there’s one thing that Lamborghini does well, it is building stunning…trucks? Actually, as it turns out, this is true. The Lamborghini LM002 was a truck that was rolled out by the Italian automaker in the 1980s.

Also called the “Rambo Lambo,” this super truck remains a rare and very cool curiosity with only 328 made. This model is on display at Curated, and for the right price (read: a lot) you can actually buy this rugged and still sexy sports SUV.

The LM002 clearly has some Hummer-style, and that is no accident. It was designed in the early to mid 1980s as a light truck for the Italian army. The “LM” was short for “Lamborghini Militaria.” Definitely ahead of its time.

To get it ready for civilian use, Lamborghini added a Countach 5.2L V12 Downdraft engine. This front-mounted powertrain produced an impressive 450 hp. The LM002 made its initial debut at the Brussels Auto Show in 1986.

This is still all Lamborghini DNA, including an excess of exceptional luxury styling and details. With a full lush leather interior, air conditioning, power windows, and top-of-the-line audio system with roof-mounted console controls, it delivers style and opulence that is perfectly over the top. We’d expect nothing less.

The downside is that this biggun’ was a gas guzzler. It gets only about eight miles per gallon. Yikes.

Other than that, we think this Lambo truck was definitely ahead of its time. Sure, we may have the Urus on the way but we’d love to see this kind of tough truck style fused with the Lambo’s high-performance and sexy luxury.

If you’re looking to get your hands on this sweet 80s SUV, check it out at Curated, or give them a follow on Instagram to see more of their stunning fleet of Lambo greatness.
