Gorgeous Green Porsche Gallery is Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day
Even if you aren’t feeling so lucky, this massive gallery of green Porsche machines should be your proverbial four-leaf clover.
In our book, the only thing better than a Porsche is a green Porsche. And we obviously aren’t the only ones who feel that way. Green has long been one of the most popular Porsche colors, ever since the very first 356 rolled off the assembly line. Over the last 70 years, the legendary sports car maker has offered up dozens of various shades of green on pretty much every vehicle it makes. And this awesome Team Speed forums thread, started by U-Boat Commander, is designed to celebrate all of them.
“There have been at least 63 different shades of Porsche green since the mid-50s and I’ve produced most of them in this thread. Without a doubt, Porschephiles love their green cars. They especially love to photograph them. And, as a result, I’ve found some of the most amazing pics all over the Internet. I’ve gotta say that the Chartreuse 1973 911 RS is my personal favorite. But there are a ton of amazing examples of Porsche green here. Enjoy.”
Produce the OP does, providing us with dozens of great pictures of green Porsches. It’s truly impressive to see just how far one company can push the limits of one particular hue, that’s for sure. And we thought that now, during St. Patrick’s Day (month?), would be the perfect time to revisit these amazing photos.
All-in-all, the OP notes that there are 69 different shades of Porsche green, so far as he knows. And that’s a truly astounding statistic. In fact, we’d be surprised if any other automaker has offered anywhere near this many shades of the same color in history. But that result clearly stems from interest from fans like Manks.
“Can I just say what a great thread this is. Green is an underrated color for Porsches and I can see it making a comeback. I am currently contemplating a new green 911, and it will be a classic color.”
Most members that chime in are just as surprised as we were to learn of this extensive color palette.
