1986 Audi Quattro

Classic Car Auctions is also presenting a super-rare Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet for bidding at U.K.’s ‘Practical Classics Car Show,’ March 23 & 24.

German engineering and Italian glamour will grace the forthcoming Classic Car Auctions (CCA) sale on March 23 and 24, 2019, at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show in the U.K. Among the cars offered from CCA are the cult classic Audi Quattros, Italian glamour from Alfa Romeo with the Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, and the classic and beautifully styled Mercedes Pagoda, plus a super rare Porsche Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

For those who remember the British drama series “Ashes to Ashes,” the Audi Quattro was made famous by Philip Glenister and the phrase “fire up the Quattro” which led to a cult following. The cars really made their mark in rallying, claiming many wins in famous hands. So when a really fabulous example becomes available, people tend to get quite excited.

CCA have an “out of the box” 1986 Audi Quattro time warp example. For the first 30 years, the vehicle had just two owners. The car is finished in solid white with an unmarked black interior and graced the front cover of “Classic & Sports Car” magazine in October 2016. This 1986 Audi Quattro has covered 76,500 miles. Plus, it still has the original Whitehouse Audi stickers and dealer plates. The car’s estimated sale is $40,000 to $46,000. If white isn’t your color, there is a second Audi in Tornado Red in the same sale for an estimated $33,000 to $40,000.

1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce

A bit of Italian glamour will grace the auction with a lovely little Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce from 1967. Estimated at $26,000 to $33,000, this car has had just five owners. It was subject to a full restoration between 2007 and 2010 and comes with photographic evidence of the restoration. The paintwork was treated to a light refresh in 2018 and the car has been recently serviced.

One of the stand out Porsche in the sale is a 1992 edition of the 911 (964) Carrera 2 Cabriolet. It’s one of only 24 that came to the U.K. in right hand drive and in wide body form. Estimated at $55,000 to $62,000, the car is in wonderful condition throughout and has recently been serviced.

1967 Mercedes 250 SL (W113) Pagoda

CCA have two Mercedes “Pagodas” in the sale. The 1967 250 SL is a fabulously presented car in cherry red. This is a left hand drive version which was imported into the U.K. in 2015. Since then, it has undergone restoration with a full body respray, new chrome, interior, engine, and other mechanicals. The car has been with the owner for the last four years. It comes with a matching hard top and a new tan soft top. This is a beautiful car and is estimated at $66,000 to $80,000. If red isn’t your color, a silver 230 SL Pagoda is also being offered in left hand drive and in a very presentable condition.

Gary Dunne from CCA commented, “We are very privileged to have some really stand out cars for our auction at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show. The Audis have a strong following so should do well. The Alfa is a lovely car and will give the new owner lots of enjoyment. The Porsche is very rare and both the Mercedes appear to be fine looking cars. These are only a small selection of 190 cars we have for sale. There is something for everyone in all our auctions.”
