Aston Martin DB11 Debuts at Geneva Motor Show
Aston Martin recently unveiled its newest luxury grand-tourer, the DB11, at the International Geneva Motor Show.
After months of spy shots and speculation, the next entry in the legendary DB family is finally here, and it ticks off all the right boxes.
The DB11 still carries the familiar, sensual curves that make it unmistakably Aston Martin, but now, these iconic lines deliver new design signatures like a front-hinging hood, additional surface contouring and a seamless roof profile.
A new 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine gives the DB11 its power and character, along with an awesomely aggressive growl.
The in-house designed V12 produces 608 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, making this model the most powerful in the DB pedigree.
To take advantage of all that thrust, Aston Martin’s designers have employed artful aerodynamic solutions so that the DB11 can maintain its sleek looks while remaining confidently planted as it blasts to its 200 mph top speed.
A gill-like piece inside the front wheel wells reduce front-end lift by releasing high-pressure air through the redesigned side-strake.
And at the rear, air passes through discreet intakes, travels through the bodywork and then vents from an opening in the rear decklid — a piece of clever engineering that eliminates the need for an external spoiler.
Multiple drive modes, a redesigned chassis, adaptive damping and torque vectoring all work together to give this grand tourer its agility and versatility.
The DB11 is the most significant new model for Aston Martin, not only because it continues a lineage of iconic DB cars, but because it sets the stage for the British automaker’s “second century plan.”
It looks like the next 100 years will be very exciting for Aston Martin!
Recommended retail price for the DB11 is $211,995, with first deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016.
