Blancpain GT Endurance Cup opening-round appearance is among a handful this weekend for the new Vantage GT3 and GT4 models.

Europe is emerging from its chilly slumber, ready to welcome the warmth of spring and summer in the only way it knows how: with the sound of roaring engines. That’s right: the 2019 global racing season is on its way to the continent with a full slate of endurance competitions starting the weekend of April 12 through 14.

Thus, it’s a perfect occasion for Aston Martin to bring out its all-new Vantage GT3 to the festivities, beginning with the opening round of the 2019 Blancpain GT Endurance Cup at Monza.

Three partner teams will field a total of five Vantage GT3s for the three-hour affair, including R-Motorsport, whose 2018 season included a win and three consecutive poles. And as a heads up for the next round May 11 and 12 at Silverstone, Top Gear presenter Chris Harris will drive for Garage 59’s pro-am Vantage GT3 pairing.

The Vantage GT3 will also make its debut in the Michelin Le Mans Cup via partner team Beechdean AMR, who will take their car to the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, France for the series’ opening round April 13. Meanwhile, the Monza GT3 quintet will arrive with a sextet of all-new Vantage GT4s and an older-spec model, all vying for a spot on the podium in the opening round of the GT4 European Series.

“This weekend’s Blancpain GT race will be the first real test of the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 following on from its fine maiden victory in the Japanese Super Taikyu championship with D’Station Racing and Darren Turner last month,” said Aston Martin Racing president David King. “That we have five cars in Blancpain all promising to be championship contenders in their class indicates the strong potential of the new Vantage and the faith our excellent partner teams place in us.”
