Air suspension offers up many tangible benefits, but AccuAir’s SEMA Audi R8 is all about looking cool above all.

Air suspension has been a bit of a revelation in recent years. After all, everyone wants to plant their car as close to the ground as possible. But an “in the weeds” stance just doesn’t work in the real world, where pot holes and curbs populate our local landscapes. Air ride is the answer to those problems, of course. And it’s hard to argue with the technology when you see cars like this amazing Audi R8 that AccuAir brought to SEMA 2019.

As you might imagine, the purpose of this Audi build is to show off just how awesome the car looks with air suspension. And, well, we say mission accomplished. There’s just something about a low, modern supercar that gets our own personal motors running. And there are functional reasons to make the switch as well. Things like improved aero at the track, ride comfort, and just plain looking cool at your local cars & coffee come to mind immediately.

The massive rear wing fitted to this Audi doesn’t hurt in those departments, either. It also adds a bit of flair to a car that quite honestly doesn’t need it, but why not? And if that isn’t racy enough for you, how about a full-on roll cage for the interior? Finished in the same blazing orange used on many interior accents, it’s also a nice looking piece. And that set of diamond-stitched seats don’t look half bad, either.

It’s not really like we needed to be sold on the benefits of air suspension. But running across this R8 only solidifies our position in that regard. And we’re sure that this won’t be the last cool supercar or air ride-equipped vehicle we come across at SEMA 2019. So stay tuned, because we’ll be bringing you all the cool stuff we find here in Las Vegas all week long!
