2013 Mercedes-Benz SL Catalog images leaked

Expected to be unveiled publicly at next month’s Detroit Auto show, we have been sent a few cell phone snapped images from the of catalog of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SL, and it looks ptretty good so far.

The current model SL has been around since 2001 and has received a face-lifts in 2006 and 2008. The 2013 Mercedes SL will features a sharper, more upright nose, making it more similar to the front of the new SLK and CL models. The new roadster will be larger, but weigh less then the outgoing SL thanks to its new aluminum body that reduces weight by more than 100kg.

We have been informed the new SL roadster will be powered by a new twin-turbo V8 engine. This 4.7 liter engine provides 435 horsepower. In addition there will be a V6 and there still maybe a possibility of V12, even though earlier reports suggest Mercedes will be ditching he V12 engine all together. The SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG are in the works as well.
