2013 Maserati Quattroporte Spotted Hot-Lapping The Nürburgring

Ring testing has finally begun again and today our trusty Teamspeed spies bring us the latest spy-pictures of the all-new 2013 Maserati Quattroporte. Hidden under a bloated bed of plastic camouflage panels, we still can gather a good idea of the new sedans overall shape which appears to have grown from the current model.

Internally codenamed the M156, Maserati is thought to be developing a new rear-wheel drive platform for the new flag-ship saloon. The new platform will make extensive use of lightweight aluminum and be capable of implementing a hybrid system. The all-wheel-drive system from the Ferrari FF is also being considered. The new Quattroporte is expected to keep its Ferrari-derived 4.7-liter V8 and wonderful soundtrack with power rated at around 475 hp. The new sedan is also set to receive a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.

We expect the 2013 Quattroporte to debut at the Paris Motor Show this Fall.
