2012 Audi RS5 Convertible

Our trusty Teamspeed spies noticed something was a-miss regarding this badged “S5” running around this morning and quickly realized this was the new RS5 convertible undergoing final testings in it’s little brothers clothing.

We expect the power to be identical to the RS5 Coupe’s naturally aspirated hand-built 4.2-liter V8 that delivers an impressive 444 hp at 8,250 rpm and 317 lb-ft of torque from as little as 4,000 rpm. Power is distributed amongst all four wheels via a seven-speed S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. This power-plant should launch the convertible at a hair slower then the coupes zero to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds due to the excess weight of the roof mechanism but you’ll be hard pressed to notice it. Audi will also increase the electronically governed top speed from 155 mph to 174 mph upon request.
