DCB M31 with twin Merc 1350s! [VIDEO]
DCB M31 with twin Merc 1350s!
I talked with Dave Hemmingson, owner of DCB, at the Miami Boat Show and saw this video. Check out his screaming machine on Lake Havasu! Dave also had an M35 at Miami with the same engines. Wow!
‪DCB, 1350 POWERED M-31, 2ND DAY.mov‬‏ - YouTube
“Precision brute power on 91 octane – unreal,” a direct quote from Dave during our phone conversation regarding his 1350 experience. Dave continued, “The 1350s are breathtaking – technology at its finest. The idle quality is very cool. The brute power is unbelievable. They pull at 2500 rpm and never stop! I can’t believe the rpm band – and its nice to be able to run them on 91-octane pump fuel. The 1350 powered 31M Wide Body is the hardest accelerating, fastest DCB to date. We saw 176.4 mph in our second day of testing. I believe this boat’s handling and power is capable of 180.”

ya gotta admitt.......
over 2.4 h.p. per cubic inch is pretty strong for a production american engine: plus live in a marine environment.
Go-Mercruiser!
btw, 2700 hp in a 31' production boat, yahooooo, better be careful kids and nice job DCB.
good post and thanks

In Miami, Randy Scism of MTI showed me a photo on his phone of the SmartCraft GPS speedo in Bob Bull's 48: 177 mph. That's two boats over 170 with these engines.
Dave Hemmingson of DCB said the M31 in the video above went 25 to 125 mph in under 12 seconds.
I don't think it's a speedo with optimism -- it's engines with torque!

I was talking about the actual speedo. GPS was reading around 174 MPH and the speedo looked like it was reading over 300 km/h. 186 mph+ Then I realized that the scale seems to change on the speedo.
Everyone on here is so jumpy, I guess I needed to add a smiley.

As teenagers growing up in N. Miami we would hangout on NE 188th St, "Thunderboat Ally," watching, hearing and smelling some bad ass creations…wish Mr. Aronow was around to see today's achievements.
