Smile GM Backup Camera

Boca Raton, FL (06.19.12) NAV-TV®, the industry leader in vehicle network integration technology for infotainment and telematics device optimization, announces improvements and added compatibility to the General Motors aka GM Backup Camera and video integration module.

In 2007 Cadillac debuted a completely new and revolutionary infotainment system in the redesigned 2008 Cadillac CTS. Consisting of a color LCD screen, an integrated 40 GB hard drive for music storage and available navigation system with real-time traffic and weather updates, the new infotainment platform was a huge improvement over its predecessor.

However, the new system also had limitations. Although a rear view camera, the safest method for avoiding a back over accident, was an available option when ordering a vehicle, it could not be retrofitted through the dealer if the vehicle didn’t come equipped directly from Cadillac. To combat this limitation and allow a rear view camera and additional video inputs to be viewed on the factory LCD screen, NAV-TV released the hard-wired CTS-GVIF integration module in mid 2008.

In 2010 GM began introducing this new infotainment system into more vehicles. Presently it is either standard equipment, or an available option, in the 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CTS and CTSV, Chevrolet Cruze, Equinox and Volt as well as the GMC Terrain.

Today NAV-TV announces the release of an updated and improved version of the CTS-GVIF integration module. With the addition of OEM GVIF plug-and-play connectors, the newly redesigned CTS-GVIF reduces installation time, increases performance, eliminates the possibility of EMI and no longer requires the video to be hardwired. Additionally, all vehicles sharing the CTS infotainment system have been validated and are compatible with the CTS-GVIF, including the new Chevy Volt.

The CTS-GVIF (SKU # NTV-KIT201 - $699) is available now and shipping from NAV-TV’s headquarters in Boca Raton, FL, USA. To obtain more information on the CTS-GVIF, or to place an order, please contact NAV-TV's sales and support staff at 1-866-477-3336 x119 or visit us online at NAV-TV - Email - LGomez@NAVTV.com
