if we get the car for 115k Euros it will be probably the same number in Dollars for you...I guess somewhere between 115-130k

It`s like that with just about any German car.

the only thing that may lead to US customers paying German prices is that the GTS is only built upon a serious inquiry and there are already more than 300 serious inquiries for the GTS

Is it just me or has BMW taken the cheap route with this car in terms of aesthetics? ... a bolt on Spoiler, a bolt on front lip ... if i am going to spend $170k on a car i want it to be aesthetically different from the "ordinary" M3 ... they should have redesigned the front spoiler, redesigned the boot lid to give more down force ... not bolt on parts

they did this with the CSL M3, so why not with this car? cost cutting id imagine, but then dont charge $170k for the car ...

the only plus for me is in terms of the mechanics of the car (good thing BMW upped that motor to a 4.4) ... figures on paper and real world are two different stories altogether ... but lets see how it performs on the track and IF it can be a challenger to the 2010 RS (or for that matter can it even challenge the RS.1) ... in all honesty at that price point you better off with an RS

well...the car is not about aesthetics, but about function and performance..

But I actually like everything on that car (except the wing).
Most of the phenomenal differences to a standard M3 can`t be seen when looking at it from the distance.
You can`t immediately see that it has better brakes,a better suspension, better engine, less weight,a titanium exhaust etc....that`s what counts

you are right .. lets see how this car performs ... because the only way ill consider spending that kinda money on the car is if it performs better than the 2010 RS, on a straight and around a track ... and convincingly too

BMW Won?t Bring M3 GTS to U.S. - Car and Driver Blog

The normal M3 is priced around 60,000 euros correct? That translates to $102K. If the GTS made it here it wouldn't have been $170K. Sucks it won't be coming, but wasn't surprised either.

BMW’s Motorsport division has announced that every-single M3 GTS has found a owner, even if it was priced at €115.000. Deliveries will begin in May. However, BMW did not revealed how many units were produced.

BMW’s M division CEO, Kay Segler, said in a recent interview that he was surprised by the public’s reaction on the GTS. He and his team developed the lighter version M3 as a track-day car that can be driven on the public roads. However, demand exceeded all the expectation they had.

Thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber, the M3 GTS weights only 1,490kilos (190 less than a standard M3). And with 450 ponies under the hood, the GTS is faster than any M3 out there.
