Drove a Honda Odyssey for a few months then got an X3 in 2004 that I drove. It was never "my car" though. Just a family car I drove.

It was originally my moms car, but she didn't enjoy driving it and I just happened to be getting my drivers permit/license, and I really really wanted a Range Rover or Denali etc.... My parents pawned it off on me, and then my mom got a new 5 series. They said it made sense too since NJ law said that for your first year driving, you couldn't have more than 1 additional person in your car - and the z3 only had one extra seat...

I thought it was "gay", and was kind of embarrassed to drive it.

I worked my butt off to get a SUV, and ended up buying an Envoy within a year... and I'll never forget, the first day I brought it home... I had a bunch of friends with me [and keep in mind, you're only allowed to have 1 additional person in the car...] Well... I didn't want to break the rules and being a dumbass, I had one of my friends on the roof of my car holding on to the roof rack... I flew around my development in reverse with a black kid sliding all over the roof of my car.... Within like 10 minutes I had about 15 cops at my house....

One of my neighbors in the development spotted me and reported it in...

Man, being under 18 was so much fun.

My 1st Car.

My 1st car was 1982 BMW 320i that my mom bought for $1,500. It had no AC so in the Fl heat was interesting. I was the only kid school that had one and for a few weeks I let people think I had a really fancy sportscar. lol. It had a broken speedominter and bad valves in the engine. I would put a quart of oil in it every week. It was reliable enough to get me from here to there and cool to boot

My car was similar to this one except it was black.

The stately 1973 Super Beetle. 360,000 miles, four engines, three transmissions and painted at a macco for ~500$. I had grand total into that car 2K. Sold for 4 when it was done. Between my sister and I ~20K miles. Great car.

I'm still working on it... I've still got 2 years.

A flat-6 conversion is too expensive, but a 986 Boxster flat-6 only costs 6k...
