I see that there is an option to buy a 'non smoker' ashtray that fits items like an iPhone. I saw it here:

Here's the trick to saving yourself some coin if you want the same thing without replacing the part. Pull out the regular ashtray and use a small screwdriver to remove the small plastic piece that looks like it holds cigarette buts. It pops right out and voila! you have the iPhone storage location that doesn't consumer the cup holder area.

1. a button on the backside of the steering wheels turns the backlights for the steering wheel buttons on/off
