If they are in the pockets of Escort than why did V1 come out on top?

because mike valentine used to be the head engineer for Escort broke off and started his own company he still have connections. GOL will give a favorable review to anyone with a check.

If they rank V1 the best then what does this show?

I have read over and over that having multiple detectors in a vehicle can dramatically affect the sensitivity of detectors and skew the results. Why should we put any stock in an obvious amateur reviewer that doesn't even bother to separate them?

Here is a link from the V1 site explaining why they should never be in the same car: Radar Detector Testing

When I see a picture like this from a so-called expert, I cringe:

Here is a link describing proper testing techniques, of the few vids that I clicked, none of them are repeatable and could be considered a proper scientific review: Find the Best Radar Detector

Also, That video is from K40's site. Totally biased and I think something fishy is going on since the rear k40 alert went off long before the cop was even in view and the V1 alert is sooo late compared to my real world use. That cop was 1/4 mile away driving toward the car and it hadn't even gone off. That is total BS. Plus, even if that was an accurate portrayal, are you telling me that you couldn't have slowed down in time after the V1 alert, but you could have in time after the K40 alert? Knowing where the radar is coming from AND how many different signals there are gives you so much more info than a slightly earlier signal.
Example: If you pass that cop in the video, but there is another one 100 yds ahead hidden in a driveway, I promise you the V1 will tell you that there is an additional radar signal, PLUS that it is ahead of you. If you just had the K40, you would probably speed back up thinking you just passed the one cop and get popped by the other cop. Arrows AND bogey counters add so much more protection than users of other detectors realize. They have saved me more times than I can count.

Nothing is better than the V1. If you've got the cash, and you want the best, get a V1.

Jeff_NJ,

The rear radar for the K40 did not go off first the front did.

running two radar at the sametime does not affect eachother as long as they are a decent distance away and in this cae the K40 receiver is mounted inside the front bumer and the V1 is in the whinshield. If anything the V1 should have picked up first seeing the placement of the radar. It just happens that the K40 has better sensitivity then the V1 on Ka-band now does it mean the V1 is not good.....NO it is but the K40 has better Ka-band detection. This video wasnt done by K40 it is just up on there K40 youtube channel looks like it was done by someone who has there system and sent the video into them. I would think if it was done by them it would be more structured testing then a real world detection. Also from own personall use the K40 also detects mutiple threats so YES it would tell you if a cop was sitting after you passed one.

Escort has significantly more patents than any other radar detector manufacturer in the marketplace, and up until recently Escort manufactured K40's radar detectors for them and in doing so do you really think that they would provide them with the best antennas?

I've owned all of these and my personal preference is for the 9500ci or Bel STiR Plus (same thing) - primarily due to the GPS features and ease of a stealth installation. Whatever system you prefer we're happy to help with an integrated mirror display.
