Joe from Renntech please tell us more ! - RENNtech G Wagen CDI Concept
RENNtech, a Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist based in Florida has proposed a Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen or G-Wagen as it's next project. But instead of the usual G55 AMG package, RENNtech is considering souping up a diesel model - the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel engine. This version is not available Stateside but since more automakers are introducing or considering diesel as an option on sedans, it may be a wise move. At 224hp (165kW) and 397 lb-ft (540Nm) of torque the diesel engine is no slouch. The other option is to use the bigger 4.0-litre turbo diesel worth 250hp (184kW), 411 lb-ft (560Nm). Rest assured though that when RENNtech is done, all those figures will be dwarfed.
The body kit speaks volumes about who might buy this car once it's been finished. From these sketches we can spot the huge deep dish wheels, plenty of shiny parts and a wide body kit. They will need many pots to cook up enough of power to pull something that weighs almost three tons (6,600 lbs) along.

I agree with Bronto on the wheels, but wheels are always exaggerated on renderings like this. Simply, we're working on RENN's 20th anniversary project cars, and a big-power diesel G Wagen is one of these projects. This isn't quite a final rendering (probably only one rear-exit exhaust, the "chrome" will be stainless, which isn't quite as "loud".
Whenever we do molds and tools like this, they're always good for 3-4 models. Any other questions?

Oh very interesting,i might go back to the G in this version...
the exhaust position is great idea and dechromed is the right choice as is a high performance diesel.
Only problem with the G is the cramped interior and restricted glasshouse.
Look forward to see this thing developing
