Red Bull F1 Hits the Ski Slopes

Yes, you read that right. Red Bull decided that some good publicity would come from taking an F1 car up some ski slopes for some fun. It is most certainly a once in a lifetime experience, not only for the on-lookers, but also for current F1 hot-shoe Max Verstappen. Thankfully, lots and lots of video was gathered from the event, which features the 2011 season Formula 1 car and its high-revving V8.

What does it take to make an F1 car actually move about on the powdery white stuff? Not a lot, actually. Which is quite amazing, given how these cars need to be picture perfect before even starting for a grand prix. I suppose the added ground clearance and snow chains help, but it is still amazing to see an F1 car do better in the snow than your average SUV.

The video below, plus a few more on Max Verstappen’s YouTube channel, show just what kind of planning had to go into making this event take place. It certainly takes more than just a twist of a key to get to the top of a ski resort in one of these!
