Ferrari 458 Speciale Spotted in Barcelona

By -

We won’t get to see the new Ferrari 458 speciale in the flesh until the doors open to the Frankfurt Motor Show, but lucky for us there are a few you-tubers that have caught the new hard-core 458 live on public roads. In the video after the jump, the sharp-shooters at 6to6TV have filmed the new Speciale on the streets of Barcelona, during what we believe to be an official Ferrari video shoot for the new car.

The video doesn’t give much away, but at least we get to hear the tweaked V8’s menacing exhaust note at low speed and idle. As mentioned last week, the Speciale is powered by Ferrari’s award-winning 4.5-liter V8, but has been messaged to pump out a whopping 596 horsepower, up from the 562 hp variant found in the standard 458. The Speciale was also put on a strict diet, resulting in a significant weight drop from the 458 Italia’s 3,274 lbs curb weight.

The 458 Speciale is slated to hit 62 miles per hour, from a standstill in a mere 3 seconds flat, and 124 mph in 9.1 seconds.
