Dominate the Snow in a Fire-Crackling AWD Nissan GT-R

You guys know the drill on the Nissan GT-R: depending on the year, around 100-grand price tag, about 500 horsepower, all-wheel drive, four seats, and a terrible roofline. It’s a crazy beast. And in the snow, it’s even more fun.

The video guys over at Vehicle Virgins just finished up GT-R week, during which they put out multiple videos with a variety of monstrous Nissans, including two 700-horsepower versions, and one with 1,600 horsepower. The one you see in this video, owned by Steve Sanker, is a 2009 GT-R Premium that, when stock, made 480 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6. But it’s not stock. It has an E85 fuel conversion kit, some bolt-ons, a custom exhaust, as well as a carbon fiber body kit and a big boy wing. Now it makes more than 600 horsepower.

Now, the normal thing to do with a GT-R is run it in a straight line, as they did in other videos. But when in Michigan (where Mr. Vehicle Virgin is based), do as the Wolverines do and play in the snow. Watch as the ’09 GT-R, a BMW M5, and what appears to be a Dodge Charger Hellcat (based on his other videos) make some lovely tire angels in the first big snow of the season.
