Behold Norwood’s Stunning First Ferrari 330 P4 Replica

We don’t normally care too much about kit cars and replicas around here, but this one is special. The 330 P4 Ferrari is one of the rarest and most sought after cars ever produced by the Prancing Horse. With only three in existence, it’s not easy to get one, so the replica market for this machine is pretty substantial. And when it comes to replicas, you will be hard pressed to find one that is better than this one.

One of the keys to its desirable nature is the engine. Rather than use an off-market engine from Cosworth or Renault, like a massive quantity of P4 replicas, this particular example houses a true Ferrari V12 engine. It’s not the F1-derived 4.0-liter screamer of the original, but rather a larger 4.8-liter V12 pulled from the Ferrari 400 GT. To keep it true to form, the Bosch fuel injection system has been dumped in favor of six Weber carbs. The team at Norwood turned to Germany for shifting duties, however, and built this model with a G50 transmission from a Porsche 911.

On the visual front, this replica looks amazing. Featuring tons of smart details like the various decals, and of course those amazing center-lock wheels. These pics came from The Mitty classic car event at Road Atlanta a few weeks ago. It was parked at the booth for the upcoming Atlanta Concours d’Elegance, and there was no way that anybody could get by without snapping a few photos.

So with that in mind, here is a small gallery of this killer Ferrari replica for your enjoyment. And be sure to pay attention around this time next year, because the owner is working on getting it track ready. He plans to race in the Mitty next year, and definitely I plan on going back to get some action shots of this beast as it barrels into Turn 10.
