Audi R8 V10 Plus David Bowie Equals Super Bowl Winner
They haven’t even played the big game yet, but we already have a winner: Audi.
I highly doubt we’ll see a better Super Bowl ad on Sunday than the one below, which features an aging veteran of the Apollo 11 lunar space mission, presumably.
The old hero is just fading away, sunken eyes staring off into space, wispy for those glory days of yore. Then we hear the dulcet tones of a very high powered automobile. In walks the man’s son, whose got just the thing to cheer Dad up: a rocket ship in the form of a 2017 Audi R8 V10 plus.
The old commander’s still got something in the tank; he gladly takes the keys. Gets strapped in. Get’s cozy with his ship. A twinkle in his eye. Ignition on. And just when you’re on the verge of tears, David Bowie’s “Star Man” kicks in and the countdown commences! 3… 2… 1… We are go for launch!
Blast off! 610 horsies blast off into the night at 205 mph. May God’s love be with you!
After some inspired shots of rockets, the R8, and happy pilots, Audi drops the tagline: “Choosing the moon brings out the best in us.”
Well, it definitely brought out the best in Audi’s ad team. Kudos Audi. Game winner.
