breitling service question

I have a 4 year old super ocean that is on its way back to breitling for a full service, which I am being told should cost around 650. is this kind of service normal for a watch that is only 4 years old? is there something i could do to make extend the time before my next service?

I am the original owner so there is no questions about its past.

650 for a 1800 watch seems kind of steep, they are saying it needs to be completely torn down and re-lubed.

That does seem kind of steep. My 4 year old Tissot (come June) will have sustained four years of heavy use (every day, all day), and keeps time just fine.

That means every 12 years (ish) you could buy yourself a new Breitling for those services....

Thought, maybe this is the standard. Hopefully Strike will chime in.

Seems a bit much. For comparison, Rolex suggests their watches be serviced every 5-8 years and costs about 5-550 to do so. They disassemble everything, lube, new gaskets, etc etc and then refinish/polish the bracelet and case to perfection if needed.
