As messed up as it sounds thats how it works here I've been told. Executions (beheadings) are open to the public. I will not be checking this out though.
Thanks man! It was great to meet you guys. Unfortunately I wont be back any time soon because they didn't renew my "multi entry" status on my visa. No more go karting for me!
Who wants to come to saudi?! haha

taken from by blog the other day...

So I was just trying to get to my house and the front gate was closed. Usually there’s a gate operator to open the gate but he wasn’t there for some reason. My First thought was to just scale gate. However it is about 8 feet tall and made of thick, black painted, steel. It was about 12:30 in the afternoon and 110 degrees outside so I knew this thing would be hot. I figured I’d keep climbing it as a last resort. Sure enough, after driving around the compound, that gate was my only way in. I touched my side of the gate to see what I was getting myself into. It was warm but not bad. It was in the shade however so I knew that the part is be jumping to would be considerably hotter. “fvck it” I thought. I parked the car at the base of the gate, stood on the tire and lunged for the top of the gate. I grabbed on with both hands but it felt like I had just grabbed onto a barbecue. I managed to pull myself up but the pain was so bad I threw one leg over and straddled the top of the gate. Foolishly I climbed up the middle of the gate so now I had to figure out a way to shimmy across about 6 feet without burning my hands even worse. There I was, in my work clothes, straddling this huge gate in front of the property, trying to bounce on my ass across it to the other side without using my hands. In hindsight I probably should have just taken my shirt off and used it to cover my hands and help me across. I already looked completely ridiculous. I think I may have just ruined Saudi's view of Americans. Anyways, after about 30 seconds of hopping and sliding, I climbed down to my neighbors gate and then to the courtyard below. 30 minutes and some painful typing on my iPhone later, my hands are still stinging and bright red. Awesome.
Also heres a clip I put together of my first day at the karting track in Bahrain

There is a strong case for making them open in the US too.

For the record I do not support the death penalty.

Forgive my question but I am curious. Are these public executions a popular spectacle?

Most Americans support TV executions - US news - Crime & courts - msnbc.com

As far as I know, no. I hadn't even heard about it until the other day. The only reason I even found out was a friend was explaining to me that a person with too many drifting infractions was given that as a penalty. That lead to an explanation of how it works here.
I'm extremely curious by nature (I wouldn't be living here if I wasn't) so the thought had crossed my mind to go. I mean its part of the culture and I am here to experience both the good and the bad parts but then I realized I wouldn't even even be able to watch someone kill an animal, let alone a human. Dont think I will be going.
