Don't know if either qualifies as a true 1911, but I learned to shoot with my mom's officer's model as well as other loaned fullsize 1911's.

And on my 21st birthday I got a Para Ordinance P12. The P12 was fun to shoot and I actually liked the fat grip. It did have a tendency to stovepipe jam though, and it was my carry gun at the time. I sold it to my dad who still has it, I got an HK USP instead that I still own today. :D

It's not like you need to pass some crazy test first right? Isn't as easy to buy a gun that it is to buy shoes?
