Attention Supercar Owners: Let's Talk!

Hello everyone,

My name is Gino, and I am the video content director for Automoblog.net.

We are starting a video series about what makes supercars super, and are first looking for the opinions of supercar owners themselves for the first hand experience.

If you own a supercar, and happen to live in the Metro-Detroit area, please message me and let me know, as I'd be more than happy to grab some lunch or coffee with you to discuss.

If not, I'm looking to hear from everyone and anyone on what makes your supercar so super or special to you.

I look forward to chatting with you!

Gino D'Orazio

SUPERCARS, everyone understands something else, nevertheless, for me, SUPERCARS must have some kind of suitability for general usage, otherwise they are 3-D paintings.

Hello Rob! Thank you for your reply; So you'd rather a super car be in use, rather than storage?

No, but I would prefer some kind of "usable" for generell usability, like a non-existent Koenigsegg-Sport-Sedan or so.

For me, the CAR in Supercar is the important word. It's called Supercar and not Supertechnics.

So, CAR means mobility or motion. For me, a SUPERCAR must do this perfect and not gather everything from everywhere, assembling electric motors from washers, Li-ion battery packs, supercomputers dedicated to climate and earth system research, graphiccards from videogames, Fuel Cell, miniature nuclear power stations for recharging the battery, ..., and the end, most often lapped twice by a 991 GT3 Cup, 1200 kg, 460 hp, of 10 percent of the price.

Old thread, but I thought I'd contribute my 2 cents. I'm not a great fan of modern day supercars strictly on aesthetics, they're so ugly (for the most part). This is especially true for me of Lamborghini. Compare an Aventador to a Miura and there is so much "gingerbread" on the Aventador that you don't even get a sense of its design languarge as there are so many plastic distractions. Look at the Miura and it's like looking at a classic Renaissance sculpture, pure art! I own a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, which I consider the best example of the 1970's Italian wedge design, sensuous and aggressive at the same time.

Although not in the Detroit area, I do visit my sister in Oak Park, Mi often, otherwise I'm in sunny So Cal.
